Directed by Tom Ferguson, this film discovers the stories behind the Pararoos and how important football is within their lives. It follows the team from their national championships where an initial squad is selected right through to their final game at the World Championships in San Luis, Argentina. We hear from the players that make-up the Pararoos and how it has changed their outlook on life and goes far beyond being just an ordinary international side.
In ‘The Pararoos’ documentary we follow the teams journey to the 2017 World Championships in Argentina. We discover the players’ personal stories, the significance of the Pararoos set-up in their lives, the importance of the coaching and backup staff and whether despite massive hurdles they can achieve their objective of a top ten ranking. The team is faced with many challenges along the way as they attempt to compete with professional national sides supported by much larger budgets. With unprecedented access into the inner sanctums of an international team’s changing room and training facilities this film displays the raw emotion driving a team in which each individual’s life is built on the foundation of defying the odds and never giving up.
